The fuel consumption of electronic fuel injection diesel engines has no fixed standard. The core factors depend on the equipment model, power size, load condition, operating conditions, and operating habits. The regular fuel consumption range can be accurately divided according to the equipment type, and by reasonably controlling the operating conditions and methods, the fuel consumption can be effectively reduced, balancing power and energy conservation.Electronic fuel injection diesel engines, with their accurate electronic injection system, have a higher fuel utilization rate than ordinary diesel engines. They are widely used in trucks, construction machinery, and generator sets, etc. The fuel consumption varies significantly in different scenarios.
Small electronic fuel injection diesel engines, with a power range of 10-50KW,are mainly used in small generator sets and small construction machinery(such as small excavators, loaders). The fuel consumption range is 2.5-8L/h.These electronic fuel injection diesel engines are small in size and have moderate power. The fuel consumption is relatively low when the engine is unloaded, about 2.5-4L/h.When the load reaches 50%,the fuel consumption rises to 4-6L/h.When fully loaded, the fuel consumption is 6-8L/h.They are suitable for the power requirements of small equipment, and the energy-saving effect is remarkable.
Medium-sized electronic fuel injection diesel engines, with a power range of 50-150KW,are widely used specifications, for medium-sized trucks,medium-sized construction machinery(such as medium-sized excavators, rollers),and medium-sized generator sets, etc. The fuel consumption range is 8-25L/h.These medium-sized electronic fuel injection diesel engines have strong power and are suitable for various load scenarios. The fuel consumption is approximately 8-12L/h when unloaded,12-18L/h when half-loaded(50%-70%load),and 18-25L/h when fully loaded. They balance power and fuel economy.
Large electronic fuel injection diesel engines, with a power range of over 150KW,are used for large trucks, heavy construction machinery(such as heavy excavators, bulldozers),and large generator sets, etc. The fuel consumption range is 25-60L/h.These large electronic fuel injection diesel engines have sufficient power and can handle heavy loads. The fuel consumption is approximately 25-30L/h when unloaded,30-45L/h when half-loaded(50%-70%load),and 45-60L/h when fully loaded. Some high-power models have a full-load fuel consumption of over 60L/h.They are suitable for heavy industrial scenarios.

The fuel consumption of electronic fuel injection diesel engines is closely related to the load condition. The greater the load, the higher the fuel consumption. There is a positive correlation. For every 10%increase in load, the fuel consumption increases by approximately 8%-10%.Reasonably controlling the load and avoiding long-term full-load operation can effectively reduce fuel consumption. For example, when operating construction machinery, avoid overloading and adjust the load according to the operation requirements, which can reduce fuel consumption and extend the service life of the electronic fuel injection diesel engine.
The operating conditions have a significant impact on the fuel consumption of electronic fuel injection diesel engines.Trucks running on flat roads have lower fuel consumption, while trucks running on mountainous areas or steep slopes require more power output, resulting in a 15%-25%increase in fuel consumption.Construction machinery operating in muddy and complex road conditions also have a significant increase in fuel consumption.Frequent starts and stops, and low-speed driving can cause the electronic fuel injection system to frequently adjust the fuel injection volume, resulting in increased fuel consumption.
Operating habits also affect the fuel consumption of electronic fuel injection diesel engines.Frequent rapid acceleration and deceleration can cause the electronic fuel injection system to frequently adjust the fuel injection volume, resulting in increased fuel consumption;long-idle operation of the electronic fuel injection diesel engine in a low-efficiency state will consume fuel continuously. For example, when the generator set is in idle standby mode, the fuel consumption per hour is approximately 30%-40%of the full-load fuel consumption.Smooth operation and avoiding long-idle periods can effectively reduce fuel consumption.
The maintenance condition of the electronic fuel injection system also affects fuel consumption.Faults in the electronic fuel injection system, such as clogged fuel injectors or faulty fuel pumps, can lead to a decrease in fuel injection accuracy and insufficient fuel combustion, resulting in increased fuel consumption;clogged air filters and aged engine oil can affect the engine's operating efficiency, indirectly increasing fuel consumption.Regular maintenance of the electronic fuel injection system, cleaning carbon deposits, replacing air filters and engine oil,can ensure the electronic fuel injection diesel engine is in a working state and reduce fuel consumption. The quality of fuel also has an impact on the fuel consumption of electronically controlled diesel engines.Using diesel that meets the standards of National VI can increase the fuel calorific value and ensure complete combustion, thereby reducing fuel consumption.Using inferior diesel with more impurities and lower calorific value not only leads to increased fuel consumption but also damages the components of the electronic control system.Choosing diesel of the appropriate grade can improve fuel utilization and reduce fuel waste.
